Equestrian assisted therapy creates opportunities for growth and learning through problem-solving situations. Individuals are assisted in problem solving by engaging with a horse and working through choices and outcomes they may encounter. This process serves as a metaphor to situations each participant faces in other areas of their life. Activities in this program will be designed to gain insights into behaviors, thoughts, and feelings by allowing participants to discover and define their own solutions. Activities allow for natural outcomes ( the goal of observing the true characteristics of the participant), horses are used as metaphor to each participant and their life's situations.
